Land Ports of Entry
GSA Pacific Rim Region is involved in the planning process for several new or renovated Land Ports of Entry:
Arizona - Douglas, Nogales, San Luis; and
California - Andrade, Calexico, Otay Mesa, San Ysidro and Tecate.
Information about two of the major land ports of entry expansion projects - Calexico and San Ysidro - is provided in this section.
Featured building photo: Calexico East Port of Entry. Fiberglass tensile roof structures cover open areas for vehicles, while providing a light-filled space for pedestrians and bus passengers. By diffusing the sunlight and reflecting radiant heat, energy costs are reduced. The Calexico East Port of Entry has won numerous architectural awards, including the 2000 Presidental Award for Design Excellence.
