Revolving Door Initiative
Revolving doors significantly reduce the amount of energy needed to heat and cool buildings. Congress directed GSA to promote energy efficiency through the use of revolving doors in the Joint Explanatory Statement for the 2009 Omnibus Appropriations Act. We are undertaking a multifaceted approach to educate all GSA employees and our tenants to use the revolving doors as they enter and leave GSA-owned buildings.
In July of 2009, GSA’s Public Building Service will begin a campaign to encourage GSA employees and building tenants to use revolving doors. To boost awareness, GSA is developing an email campaign on this energy-saving habit and is designing new posters for facility managers to use in their buildings. If your building has a revolving door, you can help save energy, too.
