This week, General Services Administrator Denise Turner Roth hit the road and travel to Atlanta to shine a light on GSA’s work as an economic catalyst for local economic development.

Since Administrator Denise Turner Roth launched the GSA economic catalyst initiative in November, GSA has been working with local communities to make decisions about federal agency leases, buildings and tenants with a view to support local economic growth.

On Thursday, Jan. 14 Roth will host a conversation with Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and Small Business Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet on how federal agencies and local communities can work together to expand economic opportunity for all Americans.

On Friday, Jan. 15, Roth will visit Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School to present the school a computer donation to help ensure that students have computers in the classroom. And that same day she will judge the HOPE Business in a Box pitch competition to promote youth innovation and entrepreneurship.

GSA supports youth learning and innovation by partnering with communities to make computers a part of every classroom. Though the Computers for Learning program, GSA gives local schools and educational non-profits access to the technology they need while providing an environmentally responsible way for federal agencies to give new life to computers and equipment they are no longer using.
