Make a difference
The AbilityOne Program, managed by the U.S. AbilityOne Commission, is a vital source of employment for individuals with disabilities in the United States. Nonprofit agencies participating in the program not only create products and services but also provide meaningful jobs and stable incomes to people with disabilities.
Enabling opportunities: Our commitment to AbilityOne
As the government’s central buyer, GSA is positioned to substantially support the AbilityOne Program through its many contracting vehicles and governmentwide influence on federal purchasing dollars. Our contract vehicles allow federal agencies to purchase products and services directly from AbilityOne vendors — further boosting sales under the program.
We proudly support the AbilityOne Program and recognize its profound impact on individuals with disabilities. Guided by our core values, we are dedicated to:
- Promoting social responsibility: Because everyone deserves an equal chance.
- Embracing workplace diversity: We believe in fostering an environment that celebrates the unique experiences and perspectives of our people.
- Adhering to legal obligations: Beyond compliance, it’s about doing what’s right – even when it’s not explicitly mandated.
The impact of our commitment
We continue to exceed our annual pledge to AbilityOne. In fiscal year 2023, we helped generate over 3,700 full-time jobs for individuals with disabilities. Below is a snapshot of our impactful contributions and the many jobs we’ve helped create.

Sustaining progress and taking action
Our work is far from over. We actively monitor our progress through the Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS). Our Federal Acquisition Service and Public Buildings Service workforce, in collaboration with our ABOR team persistently renew contracts and seek new opportunities for AbilityOne. The Department of Defense is the program’s largest customer, procuring over $2.1 billion of AbilityOne products and services. Within civilian agencies, GSA proudly leads, contributing approximately 10% of AbilityOne sales.
