USAGov Contact Center and 1-844-USA-GOV1
The USAGov Contact Center assists people with questions about federal agencies, government programs, services, and more. Formerly the National Contact Center, the USAGov Contact Center personalizes the award-winning service of USA.gov and GobiernoUSA.gov. Information specialists help phone, email, and chat customers navigate the complexities of federal, state, and local government to find the information they need. In fiscal year 2014, USA.gov answered 762,000 calls, 72,000 emails, and 34,000 chats.
There are three ways to reach the USAGov Contact Center:
- Call 1-844-USA-GOV1 (1-844-872-4681) 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM ET, Monday to Friday (except federal holidays) to ask questions and speak with an information specialist in English or in Spanish.
- Email questions by visiting www.usa.gov/email or in Spanish by visiting the Spanish email page.
- Chat online with an information specialist in English at www.usa.gov/chat or use the Spanish chat page 8:00 a.m.to 8:00 p.m. ET, Monday to Friday except federal holidays.
Drawing on its long-term experience managing the USA.gov Contact Center, GSA’s Office of Citizen Services and Innovative Technologies also provides procurement assistance to agencies through USA Contact. This multiple award, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract helps agencies save time and money purchasing a variety of contact center services from prescreened providers.
Handling calls and email that have nothing to do with their mission or programs can be costly for federal agencies. The USAGov Contact Center’s Misdirects Program can help save agencies time and money by redirecting those calls and email messages to the correct programs and offices. When agencies join the free program, their employees can instruct misdirected callers to phone 1-844-USA-GOV1 with their questions and can forward misdirected email inquiries to email@example.com.
