WASHINGTON - Are you looking for federal grants or loans for flood control, food and nutrition programs, education and training, or small business development? Or how about help for community development programs, child care, or mental health research? These are just a few of the Federal assistance programs described in the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance published by the U.S. General Services Administration. The online Catalog always contains the most current information. It is available at www.gsa.gov/cfda, or through FirstGov.gov.
The 2001 Catalog contains information on more than 1,450 domestic assistance programs sponsored by 57 Federal departments and agencies. It includes qualification requirements and suggestions for writing grant proposals. Designed to make finding information easy, the Catalog's four indexes (agency, function, subject, and applicant eligibility) will help you quickly locate potential Federal assistance for your specific need. For each program listed, the Catalog provides: program objectives and goals, types of assistance offered, eligibility requirements, examples of funded projects, criteria for selecting proposals, phone contacts for applicants and information, and related programs.
Beginning in 2001, the December Catalog Update will no longer be published in print. The Government Printing Office subscription price has been reduced to $60.00 per domestic subscription, and $75 if mailed to an address outside of the United States. To place an order, contact the Superintendent of Documents, U.S. Government Printing Office, P.O. Box 371953, Pittsburgh, PA 15250-7954. To place telephone orders, call (202) 512-1800.
Both the June basic edition and the December update edition will continue to be published in various electronic formats. Catalog contents and accompanying documentation are available from GSA on high-density floppy diskettes ($50) and CD-ROM ($45.) To order the floppy diskettes or the CD-ROM, contact the Federal Domestic Assistance Catalog Staff (MVS), U.S. General Services Administration, Washington DC 20407; phone (202) 708-5126.
