WASHINGTON, DC - The U.S. General Services Administration today announced the 3rd annual GSA SmartPay Conference will open Tuesday, August 14, in Miami Beach, FL. Sponsored by GSA, the conference provides participants an opportunity to update their program knowledge, look at new ways to do business and share best practices.
Conference participants serve as Agency Program Coordinators with direct responsibility for managing their agency's card program. The conference provides hands-on training on the use of contractors' Internet card management systems. Classroom training focuses on delinquency management, fraud detection, resolving disputes and report options. Over 2,500 Agency Program Coordinators are expected to attend the conference.
GSA SmartPay contracts provide travel, purchase and fleet card services government-wide. Bank of America, Bank One, Citibank, Mellon Bank and U.S. Bank issue cards to the federal government under these contracts. Government-wide expenditures using the cards last year were $17 billion. Annual administrative savings to the government are estimated at $1.2 billion.
