Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)

Photo of a man walking down a long hallwaySustainable design is vital to GSA’s mission of providing a superior workplace for the federal worker and superior value for the American taxpayer. The Sustainability and Environmental Management (SEM) Team advocates high performance design strategies that can produce efficient buildings to operate with increased asset value and higher occupant productivity.

The SEM Team works with the GSA Public Buildings Service business lines and other expert services towards:

  • Conserving energy
  • Improving indoor air quality
  • Enhancing the work environment for federal workers
  • Creating high performance green buildings

Sustainable design is an integral part of the design excellence that GSA has become known for. It simply makes good business sense, it's good for the environment, and it's good for our customers.
