GSA’s online shopping and ordering catalog, GSA Advantage has reached record highs with federal agency buyers purchasing more than $408 million in 2006.
GSA Advantage has become a reliable purchasing tool for federal employees because it provides access to thousands of contractors and millions of services and products at best value.
As a one-stop, online shopping resource, GSA Advantage offers office products, tools, hardware, medical equipment, and furniture and information technology products. The online system has functions that quickly help users find the products and services such as:
- Search by keyword;
- Browse by category;
- Research items;
- View order history;
- Check order status and reordering features.
Sales on GSA Advantage have continually risen in the 11 years since the site was developed. The upward trend continues as agencies seek the best value and lowest prices to fill their procurement needs. Government employees may make purchasing using:
- A governmentwide commercial purchase card (GSA SmartPay®);
- A GSA Activity Address Code (AAC); or
- A Department of Defense Activity Address Code (DoDAAC) (limited to purchases of GSA Global Supply items).
