WASHINGTON — The U.S. General Services Administration’s 14th annual GSA Expo is beginning now at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas.
The major procurement showcase targets federal, state and local customers, and will continue through June 11.
“Expo 2009 exemplifies GSA’s commitment to helping customers achieve excellence in their missions,” said GSA Acting Administrator Paul F. Prouty. “Not only is it an outstanding opportunity to connect customers and vendors, it also provides acquisition professionals with cutting edge training critical to ensuring strong stewardship of taxpayer dollars.”
Held annually since 1996, this year’s show offers more than 200 free training hours on a wide range of topics, including environmentally friendly acquisition practices, American Recovery and Reinvestment Act reporting requirements, financial service solutions, and federal travel regulations. Teaching the classes are federal subject matter experts carefully selected by GSA for their expertise.
This year, the 40,000 square foot exhibit hall will feature over 700 GSA vendors demonstrating how their products and services can help customers meet their agencies’ needs.
“GSA contracts provide federal, state, and local agencies with the fastest, best value products, services, and solutions necessary to achieve their missions and Recovery Act projects,” said GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner James A. Williams. “Once they find what they need, they can immediately place an order via GSA Advantage!®.” GSA Advantage! is GSA’s award-winning online ordering system.
