Chicago Plays Host to 2009 FedFleet Conference
One of the largest transportation centers in America is hosting the 9th annual National Motor Vehicle and Aviation Exposition, beginning on Tuesday, July 28, 2009.
Co-sponsored by GSA, FedFleet 2009 is expected to draw federal fleet and aviation professionals from across the nation into the “Heart of America” for discussions ranging from fleet management to automotive procurement and aircraft-related educational sessions.
“This event provides an outstanding forum for those on the front lines to learn and share ideas, and for GSA to showcase the important work we’re doing to help green the federal fleet,” said Deputy Administrator Barnaby L. Brasseux.
Alternative fuel and hybrid vehicles are among an array of products and services GSA provides to federal agencies, helping them comply with the Energy Policy Act of 2005 and Executive Order 13423. Additionally, these AFVs and hybrid vehicles reduce petroleum use and greenhouse gas emissions; and advance America’s economic recovery, national energy security and environmental sustainability.
With emphasis on asset management, FedFleet 2009 will offer attendees a chance to visit the Federal Fleet Manager Workshop and Information Fair and the Aviation Safety Officer Workshop. Additional conference training sessions will focus on:
• Prospects for technology and safety trends in 2010;
• How to green agency operations and save money;
• Credit card fraud; and,
• American Recovery Reinvestment Act and the federal fleets.
Other highlights will include presentation of the 9th annual Federal Aviation Awards and the Bob Baker Fleet Manager of the Year Awards.
