Video Length: 1 minute 6 seconds
Using GSA's premier government management conference as a backdrop, GSA Administrator Martha N. Johnson rolled out a new agency mission statement that focuses on customer intimacy, innovation, and operational excellence. It transforms GSA into a change agent to help modernize government operations.
"GSA's mission is to use expertise to provide innovative solutions for our customers in support of their missions, and by so doing, foster an effective, sustainable, and transparent government for the American people," said Johnson.
The agency should not rely on the solutions of the past but, in fact, anticipate future markets and customer demands, she said. Johnson also urged customers and the public to challenge the agency to find innovative solutions.
Johnson was the keynote speaker at GSA's Interagency Management Conference in Cambridge, Md. IRMCO is the government's leading management forum for acquisition, finance, human capital, and information technology executives.
