Ruth F. Cox, Regional Administrator and Senior Sustainability Officer

One of GSA's largest, the Pacific Rim Region covers a vast and diverse territory that reaches from Window Rock, Arizona to Seoul, Korea. We serve customers in Arizona, California, Hawaii, and Nevada, overseas in the U.S. territories of American Samoa, Guam and Saipan, as well as the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Diego Garcia, mainland Japan and Okinawa, the Republic of Korea, and Singapore.

Our nearly 1,000 regional employees are committed to GSA's mission to deliver the best value in real estate, acquisition, and technology services to government and the American people. Our team manages a 36 million-square-foot real estate portfolio, which houses more than 100,000 federal employees and includes 178 government-owned buildings and leased space in 947 commercial buildings. We acquire goods, services, telecommunications and information technology for all federal agencies within the region with a value of more than $1 billion annually. We are dedicated to helping our customers save money and increase the efficiency of their operations.

As the Senior Sustainability Officer, I am responsible for ensuring the President’s sustainability policies are firmly and consistently manifest in day-to-day operations across GSA. This includes programs for energy and water efficiency, clean power generation, lowering fossil fuel consumption in the GSA fleet, greening the supply chain, diverting waste and transforming federal workspaces to shrink the federal footprint. These efforts mitigate climate change by lowering green house gas emissions, and create jobs in the sustainability market sector for American engineered, American manufactured and domestically fueled products and locally delivered services.

Thank you for your interest in GSA’s Pacific Rim Region. We look forward to the opportunity to work for and with you.
