E-Gov Travel Service (ETS)

What is ETS?
The E-Gov Travel Service (ETS) is government-wide, web-based, world-class travel management service. It was launched in April 2002 to save significantly on costs and improve employee productivity.

The current ETS contractors are:

  • CWTSatoTravel (E2 Solutions)
  • Hewlett Packard Enterprise Services, formerly Electronic Data Systems Corp. (FedTraveler.com)
  • Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (GovTrip)

What has ETS benefited federal agencies?
ETS unified over 80 Executive Branch agencies to a common, secure, web-based, automated service. It eliminated over 250 disparate, non-web-based and paper-driven systems; leveraged the government’s purchasing power; increased online adoption; reduced reimbursement cycle time; and significantly reduced voucher costs.

How will ETS2 enhance travel services for government travelers?

The ETS master contract will expire on November 11, 2013. GSA’s procurement for E-Gov Travel
Service 2 (ETS2) is in process (the ETS2 solicitation is posted on FedBizOpps). Proposals are currently under review with award(s) projected to occur in 2012. Concurrently, GSA and its agency customers are preparing plans for the transition from ETS1 to ETS2.

ETS2 will preserve the accomplishments of ETS1, while optimizing performance through competition and consolidation.

The vision of ETS2 is to deliver a streamlined, adaptable world-class travel management service that continually applies commercial best practices to realize travel efficiencies and deliver a transparent, accountable, and sustainable service that yields exceptional customer satisfaction.

How can I find out more?

  • GSA will communicate ETS2 acquisition schedule updates to agency transition teams and travel managers.
  • Travelers will receive information from their agency's Transition Team shortly before ETS2 deployment
