Energy-Efficient Commercial Building Tax Deduction – GSA Bulletin 2011-OGP-1
GSA published a governmentwide bulletin on the Energy Efficient Commercial Buildings Tax Deduction offered under the Energy Policy Act of 2005.The Energy Policy Act of 2005 authorized the Energy-Efficient Commercial Buildings Tax Deduction for expenses incurred for qualified energy efficient building investments made by a building owner.

Guiding Principles for Federal Leadership in High Performance and Sustainable Buildings
In January 2006, nineteen federal agencies signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Federal Leadership in High Performance and Sustainable Buildings committing to "federal leadership in the design, construction, and operation of High-Performance Sustainable Buildings. It charged agencies with implementing building design and operation strategies that provide optimal performance and maximize life-cycle asset value. In December 2008, the Interagency Sustainability Working Group developed High Performance and Sustainable Buildings Guidance to assist agencies in meeting the high-performance and sustainable buildings goals of Executive Order 13423.

Strategic Sustainability Performance Plan
GSA has set a goal to eliminate its impact on the natural environment and use its governmentwide influence to reduce the environmental impact of the Federal government. GSA’s Strategic Sustainability Performance Plan outlines the agency’s approach to reduce the environmental impact of the Federal government as well as its own carbon footprint.
