This week, the U.S. General Services Administration’s (GSA) Administrator Denise Turner Roth released President Obama’s fiscal year 2017 budget request for GSA. The proposed budget is focused on strengthening federal infrastructure as well as modernizing and securing the federal government’s aging IT systems including:
$10.18 billion to maintain and improve our nation’s federal buildings
$248 million for investments in border infrastructure to complete the modernization of the Calexico, CA Land Port of Entry
Upgrades to facilities in Detroit, allowing GSA to bring 800 employees to the local neighborhood
The IT Modernization Fund provides secure, efficient, modern IT systems while establishing mechanisms for federal agencies to regularly refresh their systems with up to date technologies
