The Vincent E. McKelvey Federal Building was built in 1996 on the U.S. Geological Survey campus in Menlo Park. Also known as Building 15, it is the newest and largest building on campus, housing laboratories, offices and a library.

Parking and Public Transportation

The campus has an open parking plan. Public transportation is available via Dumbarton Express, VTA, SamTrans and Caltrain [nongovernment websites].

Public Access

Buildings 1 and 20 are open to the public. All public visitors are required to pass through electronic security equipment on the first floor. ADA access is available at these buildings and the cafe.

Key Tenants

Major tenants are the U.S. Geological Survey, Veterans Affairs, TSA, Defense Contract Management Agency, DHS National Protection and Programs Directorate, and GSA. In the latest (2015) Tenant Satisfaction Survey, 54% rated the federal building and GSA services four or five on a five-point scale.

Public Art

Watersongs by Douglas HollisThe riverbed waterfall, canal bench, and vortex whirlpool outside Building 15 were designed by Douglas Hollis and are collectively titled Watersongs.
