Lt. Colorado Governor Garcia presents Diane Authier, GSA employee, with a certificate and honorable mention
In 2012, GSA partnered with Colorado Business Community for the Arts, Arts & Venues Denver, and Colorado Creative Industries, to feature original artwork created by City of Denver, State of Colorado, and Colorado-based federal government employees on their own free time. Five categories were established:
- Digital Media
- Fine Art
- Fine Craft
GSA featured one of the art exhibits in Building 41 at the Denver Federal Center in Lakewood, CO in October 2012. GSA received 33 submissions and the exhibit was juried by a distinguished panel of arts professionals chosen by CBCA.
The winning entries from each agency show where then displayed in the Multi-Agency OMOT Employee Art Exhibition at the Colorado State Capitol Building in the Basement Rotunda as well as Lt. Governor Joe Garcia’s office and will reside there until May 13, 2013.;In the meantime, Colorado citizens will cast their vote for their favorite entry for the People’s Choice Award which was held January 29, 2013.
Approximately 150 people attended the award reception. The Lt. Governor took the opportunity to praise the creative accomplishments of public employees and appreciated the addition of the art exhibition at the State Capitol Building. GSA employees Jessica Loving Campos and Diane Authier each received honorable mentions and were awarded a certificate and prize from Lt. Governor Garcia. "The 'OMOT' exhibition is a cool way to celebrate the creativity and immense talent of my fellow colleagues. I truly feel honored to have been chosen to participate in this extensive exhibition." said Jessica Loving Campos.
