Safer Schools, Safer Communities
As part of President Obama’s 23-point plan to reduce gun violence in our communities, GSA is committed to helping educators and local officials throughout the country make schools safer.
Under GSA’s Cooperative Purchasing Program, state and local governments – including public schools and institutions of higher education – can purchase safety and security-related products and services under the same terms and conditions as federal agencies. By using GSA's pre-negotiated Schedule contracts, local officials can save time and reduce costs.
Available solutions include:
- Security Cameras and Surveillance Systems;
- Emergency Communications Equipment;
- Security Consulting Services;
- Security Design and Support Services;
- Alarm and Access Control systems;
- Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credentialing Services; and more.
Our suite of e-Tools enables customers to quickly conduct market research, place electronic requests for quotes or proposals, and place orders. Participating partners are identified by the logo in eLibrary and GSA Advantage!®
Eligible institutions include:
Local elementary, middle and high schools operated by public school boards; charter school programs that are chartered and operated by local school authorities and provide free public education; public or non-profit nationally accredited or recognized colleges and universities that provide at least a 2-year program that offers a degree or offers credit toward such a degree.
State and local governments, including schools, that want to use the Federal Supply Schedules are responsible for ensuring that only authorized representatives place orders against these Schedules.
