ATLANTA – Hundreds of Atlanta-area small business owners will converge in Atlanta this week for Atlanta City Council President Ceasar C. Mitchell’s 2nd Annual Back To Business (B2B) Conference, presented in partnership with U.S. General Services Administration (GSA).
B2B is a free conference— being held June 20 from 9am-3pm at Atlanta City Hall—where small business owners can gain valuable industry training, while networking with representatives from The Atlanta Falcons, Home Depot, The Coca-Cola Company and local, state and federal agencies, among others.
The Atlanta Falcons will kick-off the event with a panel discussion at 9:30 am about the business opportunities that will likely exist during the construction and operation of the new Falcons stadium and how the project will stimulate business development in the surrounding communities.
“I am excited to have the Falcons support this event and to have the organization share with the business community its ideas and plans for increasing opportunities for local small businesses with the stadium project,” said Council President Mitchell. “This panel discussion is sure to be engaging and enlightening, as well as a must attend for any business looking partner with the Falcons on mutual business endeavors.”
Mitchell is also excited about the partnership with GSA, which has assisted in securing other panelists and vendors for the event. “We certainly could not pull off what I am certain will be a well-attended and successful event without the great work of the GSA team,” Mitchell said.
“One of GSA’s top priorities is to expand opportunities for small businesses,” said Mildred Quinley, Director of GSA’s Regional Office of Small Business Utilization. “Small businesses provide value to government and the American people. GSA is honored to partner with Council President Mitchell again in presenting B2B and demonstrating our commitment to small business.”
More than 40 exhibitors from major corporations and government agencies will be available to discuss specifics about what opportunities currently exist with their organizations. In addition to the Atlanta Falcons panel, there will be panel discussions on citywide construction opportunities, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise certifications, financing for growth and business development.
A partial list of agencies that have confirmed for this year include: The Coca-Cola Company, Home Depot, Office Depot, Delta Airlines, Fulton County, DeKalb County, State of Georgia, U. S. Housing & Urban Development, Georgia Power, Environmental Protection Agency, The City of Atlanta, Centers for Disease Control, U. S. Small Business Administration, Minority Business Development Agency, Staples, Hartsfield Jackson International Airport, United Parcel Service, Wells Fargo, and Georgia State University Small Business Development Center .
