Port Expansion Project Facilitates Border Crossing at Mariposa Land Port of Entry

New vehicle inspection booths and pedestrian crossing opens to travelers

TRAFFIC ADVISORY

The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) will complete phase three of the Mariposa Land Port of Entry expansion and modernization project this weekend and would like to announce the following changes to vehicle and pedestrian border crossings at the port. Road signs will be in place to alert travelers to reduced speeds and guide the traveling public.  

Northbound Privately Owned Vehicle (POV) Lanes 1-3

What: Privately Owned Vehicle (POV) lanes will continue with current operations. Bus and RV traffic will shift to the eastern most lane beginning Sunday, December 1, 2013 at 6 a.m.

When: Sunday, December 1, 2013 at 6 a.m.

 

Northbound Pedestrian Traffic Walkway

What: The new northbound pedestrian walkway, located between the commercial and POV traffic lanes of the port, will open to travelers on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at 6 a.m.

When: Sunday, December 1, 2013 at 6 a.m.

 

Southbound Lanes for Pedestrians, POV's and Commercial Vehicles

What: The new southbound primary inspection booths for POVs and commercial vehicles will open on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at 6 a.m. The southbound pedestrian walkway located west of the southbound primary inspection booths will also be open for pedestrian traffic. Please follow officer direction and traffic signage for new routing.

When: Sunday, December 1, 2013 at 6 a.m.

 

Northbound Commercial Vehicle FAST Lane and Secondary Inspection Facilities

What: The northbound commercial vehicle FAST lane will shift to Lane #2 starting Monday, December 2, 2013 at 8 a.m. In addition, the northbound commercial vehicle secondary inspections will shift to the new inspection facilities. Please follow officer direction and traffic signage for new routing and use caution in maneuvering vehicles with the new facility layout.
