GSA Wants to Hear From You: How Do We Improve the MILSTRIP Ordering System?
WASHINGTON – The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) is seeking active-duty military users of the ordering system known as Military Standard Requisitioning and Issue Procedures (MILSTRIP) to voluntarily provide the agency with contact information. MILSTRIP is used to order supplies from GSA Global Supply, a one-stop, online source to shop and order government supplied products that can be delivered to civilian and military locations around the world.
Users may provide GSA with their contact information online. MILSTRIP users who participate will be added to a survey sampling group, the feedback from which is used to make improvements in GSA's supply support and shipments to military locations worldwide. These GSA customer feedback surveys are essential to helping GSA make improvements to the ordering system’s overall performance.
GSA Global Supply ships a wide variety of office products and tools to military and civilian agencies. Roughly 90 percent of these supplies are sent to military customers. GSA Global Supply has partnered with multiple Department of Defense agencies and commands (e.g. Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM)) to process supply requisitions and coordinate cost-effective delivery worldwide, including embedded operations in Afghanistan to assist DLA with order status, training and expediting support to warfighters.
One of the limitations of MILSTRIP is that only unit-level contact information is conveyed for shipping and billing purposes. As such, GSA would like to reach out to individual MILSTRIP users, including Supply Sergeants or other specialists to obtain their initial contact information for the anticipated upcoming customer survey.
Feedback collected from the survey is strictly confidential and will enable GSA Global Supply to serve its customers more effectively. If you have any questions regarding the survey, please contact Robert.Alton@gsa.gov. If you are an active-duty MILSTRIP user, GSA would like to hear from you.
