GSA Transfers Coast Guard Boat to Cape Cod Fire Department

GSA recently transferred a 25-foot used Coast Guard SAFE boat to the Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills (COMM) Fire Department through the excess real property program managed through the state Department of Conservation and Recreation. The ceremony was held at the Wianno Yacht Club and was attended by COMM Fire Chief Michael Winn, Congressman William Keating and USCG and Mass Development of Conservation and Recreation. Acquiring the boat will allow COMM to respond year-round to incidents on the water around the Cape and Islands and conduct dive training.

GSA first offers excess property to other federal agencies that may have a program need for it. If another federal agency identifies a need, the property can be transferred to that agency.

To request transfers of excess federal property, please complete GSA - 1334 Request for Transfer of Excess Real and Related Personal Property.
