August 7, 2014
In another example of the GSA Iowa Service Center’s successful partnership with its utility provider, the team recently provided $78,818 in rebate funding to the Heartland Region.
Four checks representing rebates from retro-commissioning work were presented to Heartland Service Centers Director Tim Pfohl. The rebates are part of the Iowa team’s Efficiency Action Plan in partnership with MidAmerican Energy.
In July it was announced that the Iowa program had invested nearly $170,000 in rebate funds to directly support energy conservation and sustainability.
The latest rebates break down this way:
- Iowa City Federal Building $17,907
- Des Moines U.S. Courthouse $9,943
- Neal Smith Federal Building $19,775
- Sioux City Federal Building and Courthouse $31,193
Iowa Director Doug Papineau praised the Iowa team’s efforts, saying “Our energy program rocks, and it’s the guys behind the scene who make good things like this happen. Our program alone has secured more than $472K since inception, which we’ve re-invested into our portfolio. We’re also targeting another potential $100K in the near future.”
