GSA Supports Small Biz at MSFC Small Business Alliance Meeting
On February 19th, the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) held its bi-annual Small Business Alliance Meeting. The twice yearly event is an opportunity for small businesses to network with MSFC’s Small Business Office and key managers. It provides direct access to other federal agencies such as the U.S. Small Business Administration and General Services Administration. In addition, several National Aeronautic and Space Administration’s (NASA) large business prime contractors were in attendance including: Aerojet Rocketdyne, ATK Launch Systems, Jacobs, Lockheed Martin, Teledyne Brown Engineering, The Boeing Company and United Launch Alliance, and the Missile Defense Agency. The event was a huge success with over 650 registered attendees.
GSA was represented by Region 4 FAS Customer Accounts and Research staff members Jennifer Rape, Brandi Barnes, and Cindy Kirvin. Other GSA participants included Chanda Tallman of the FAS Direct Client Support Division as well as Mildred Quinley and Chasity Ash of the Regional Office of Small Business Utilization.
The GSA team was on hand as an exhibitor to support MSFC and the small business community. Throughout the morning the GSA team assisted attendees with a variety of questions and concerns from “How do I pursue a GSA contract?” to “I submitted my packet four months ago and still do not have a GSA schedule” to “What is the Professional Service Schedule migration I have been hearing about?” Overall, the GSA team was able to offer assistance to future, new or seasoned contractors.
If you have a Small Business event that would benefit from GSA representation your local GSA Customer Service Director (CSD) would be happy to assist. Locate your Local CSD today at www.gsa.gov/r4csd.
