Federal agency auctions 3000-piece wedding collection bridal sale runs June 24-July 9


ATLANTA -- GSA will kick off its 15-day “Down the Aisle” Extravaganza, an online auction of nearly 3000 items, including wedding gowns, fine jewelry, tuxedos, formal dresses, retail furnishings and more on June 24.

The collection-- offered for public bid on on behalf of the U.S. Marshals Service-- primarily features an assortment of bridal shop merchandise and furnishings.  Items to be auctioned individually or in lots include:

  • Wedding gowns with starting bids as low as $46;
  • A 3-carat diamond and platinum engagement ring;
  • Formal wear for men, women and children;
  • A Louis Vuitton travel bag;
  • Veils and tiaras;
  • Wedding bouquets, stationery and decorations;
  • Camera equipment; and
  • Retail furnishings (mannequins, wall racks, etc.)

“Brides-to-be, wedding planners and boutique owners will not want to miss GSA’s bridal sale,” said Karen Warrior, regional personal property management director for GSA’s Southeast Sunbelt Region. “The wedding collection is a great example of the unique treasures we sell for federal agencies everyday on”

The GSA “Down the Aisle” Extravaganza runs 10:30 am (EDT0 June 24, 2015 through noon July 9, 2015.  A public preview and inspection will be held in Atlanta on June 24th by appointment only.  Visit more information.

As an executive branch federal agency, GSA helps other agencies dispose of surplus property through its Personal Property Management program .  That support extends to agencies like the United States Marshals Service, charged with administering the Department of Justice’s Asset Forfeiture Program.  Depending on the nature of the disposal, property may be transferred to other agencies, donated or sold.
