GSA Participates in "Back to Business" Conference
On August 6th, GSA Region 4 participated in the Metro Atlanta 2015 Back to Business Conference. The event, now in its fourth year, was hosted by Atlanta City Council President Ceasar C. Mitchell, The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and GSA. The conference brings together the area’s small business community with public and private sector organizations to provide information on procurement opportunities and processes. Moreover, the event is a vehicle for small businesses to network and establish relationships that translate into future business.
GSA and SBA presented a breakout session viewed by over 200 attendees entitled Discovering Growth Opportunities For Your Business. The session was conducted by SBA Regional Administrator, Cassius Butts and GSA Regional Administrator, Torre Jessup. In addition to sharing information on each agency’s outreach and assistance to small businesses, they invited questions, comments and suggestions from the small business leaders in attendance. This energetic, frank, and informative exchange of views will help each agency enhance its delivery of resources and support for small business.
Attendees were treated to a surprise guest – Kim Fields, veteran actress, model, singer, and television director attended the session in her new role as entrepreneur. Ms. Fields is best known for her roles as Tootie Ramsey on the NBC sitcom The Facts of Life, and as Regine Hunter on the Fox sitcom Living Single. She expressed her appreciation for the mentoring, technical assistance and support provided by the event’s sponsors and participating organizations.
The Exhibitor Floor featured information booths from 90 private and public sector organizations. GSA Region 4 staff, representing a variety of business lines, provided information on projects, programs and activities impacting the small business community. See photo gallery for more images.
