FORT WORTH, Texas – Two properties in the Dallas-Fort Worth area are up for sale as the U.S. General Services Administration moves forward with its efforts to streamline its portfolio of properties no longer needed for federal agency operations.
“GSA is committed to operating a federal property portfolio that is effective, efficient and that will save money wherever possible. By selling these properties, we achieve the twin goals of saving taxpayer dollars and supporting the President’s mission to achieve fiscal responsibility for the nation,” said J.D. Salinas, Administrator for GSA’s Greater Southwest Region.
An online auction is currently underway to sell South Point FW, a 75-acre parcel of land with four large warehouses totaling more than 1 million gross square feet and an office building of 9,000 gross square feet. Once a part of the Fort Worth Federal Center, the property is located at 501 West Felix St., Fort Worth, close to interstate highways I-35W and I-20. Most recently, the property was used by a variety of federal agencies, including FEMA, for storage, and by the National Archives and Records Administration for storage and research operations. The auction will close May 10.
In Dallas, the Mountain Creek Industrial Center, located at 9314 West Jefferson Blvd., represents a unique opportunity to acquire a fully-tenanted manufacturing complex with an aerospace industry manufacturer as the current tenant. The Mountain Creek property offers 425 acres of industrial real estate consisting of two distinct parcels: a 315-acre parcel already fully leased and an adjacent 110-acre undeveloped parcel to the south which encompasses Cottonwood Bay. The 315-acre parcel contains more than 4.8 million square feet which also includes more than 171 buildings. The property also offers on-site rail intermodal and easy access to I-30.
