Are you a small business vendor that’s looking for upcoming federal contracting opportunities?
If so then it’s easier to find them now thanks to the forecast of contracting opportunities (FCO) tool, a forecasting solution hosted on the Acquisition Gateway. The FCO tool is a nationwide dashboard that many agencies, including GSA, utilize to share forecast information. It provides current and prospective vendors with a centralized view of forecasts from across the government that include standardized and timely information on specific data elements.

When and how to use the FCO tool
Vendors can use the FCO tool to learn about potential opportunities early in the acquisition process which may help inform marketing and business capture strategies. The FCO tool is searchable by keyword(s) and has several filters that can help narrow results to those that best match a vendor’s capabilities, experience, and interest. Vendors can filter by agency, organization, place of performance, NAICS code, estimated award date, acquisition strategy, contract type, and award status.
The acquisition strategy filter may be particularly valuable to small businesses as it allows vendors to view opportunities by set-aside type, if applicable. Each opportunity within the FCO tool will also include a point of contact (POC) that can be reached via email. Questions about forecasted opportunities should be directed to the POC. Small business vendors are encouraged to include the opportunity’s small business specialist in any correspondence with the POC.
Please note that opportunities found via the FCO tool are for information and planning purposes only. They are not commitments by the government to purchase the described products and/or services. As such, they are subject to revision or cancellation. Final decisions on the extent of competition, small business participation, estimated value, or any other aspect of the procurement are made if and when a solicitation is posted to the System for Award Management (SAM) at SAM.gov. SAM is the governmentwide point of entry for active procurement opportunities.
