Regional Commissioner, Federal Acquisition Service

In September of 2022, Darrick A. Early was appointed the Regional Commissioner of the U.S. General Services Administration, Federal Acquisition Service (FAS), National Capital Region (NCR).
Mr. Early oversees GSA's largest regional Federal Acquisition Service operation with a client base of approximately 800,000 users supported by Assisted Acquisition Services, Contracting Operating Division, and Personal Property Management business lines. Along with business development and policy support offices of Customer Accounts and Stakeholder Engagement and the Acquisition Oversight Division.
Prior to this appointment Mr. Early served as Deputy Regional Commissioner for over four years. Preceding, he was the Director for the Office of Assisted Acquisition Services within the NCR. Previously, Mr. Early was the Chief for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Contracts within the Office of Acquisition Management, Contracts and Grants for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Mr. Early holds a Master of Public Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from East Tennessee State University. Mr. Early is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University’s Leadership Development Program and the Office of Personnel Management’s, Federal Executive Institute. He was a part of the class of 1801 Senior Executive Fellows at Harvard University Kennedy School of Government, Executive Education, and is currently pursuing his PhD in Leadership from North Carolina A&T State University.
Mr. Early is certified by the Federal Acquisition Institute as a Level III contracting professional. He is also a Project Management Professional as certified by the Project Management Institute and Certified Professional Contracts Manager as certified by the National Contract Management Association.
In addition to his work with General Services Administration, he was an Adjunct Professor at University Maryland Global Campus where he taught general contract management, federal contract management, and project management.
