GSA Awards BPA for Infrastructure Services

January 27, 2015

Five-year, $100 million single-award contract enables all of GSA to easily use "Infrastructure as a Service"

WASHINGTON, DC -- The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) today announced that it awarded a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) for Infrastructure Services that will allow new products and services to be built quickly and simply. Awarded to Aquilent in November, the five-year, $100 million contract will provide infrastructure services ("the cloud") to all of GSA.

Developed by GSA IT, the Office of Citizen Services and Innovative Technologies (OCSIT), and 18F, this BPA includes a broad range of services including access to Amazon Web Services and Aquilent's professional services on Schedule 70. The BPA was competitive between offerors and re-sellers of "infrastructure as a service" on Schedule 70.

“Being able to develop products quickly, and have the ability to scale them up are hallmarks of the agile design process that OCSIT and 18F are implementing at GSA and across government,” said Phaedra Chrousos, Associate Administrator, OCSIT/18F. “Having easy access to infrastructure services will dramatically reduce the time to get products in the hands of users.”

The new BPA is a GSA-wide procurement vehicle, which allows any office or service within GSA to quickly and easily procure any infrastructure service provided through or by Aquilent.
