Technology Transformation Services Announces FedRAMP Ideation Challenge

July 24, 2019

FedRAMP program management office seeks ideas to make cloud security authorization process shorter, simpler, less costly, and more likely to be reused

WASHINGTON — The U.S. General Services Administration’s Technology Transformation Services today announced an ideation challenge and a Federal Business Opportunities special notice to improve its Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP). The FedRAMP program management office (PMO) is seeking ideas to reimagine the FedRAMP security authorization process and its supporting functions.

“More agencies than ever now adopt secure cloud technologies and FedRAMP strives to continuously improve how we support our customers,” said Acting Director of FedRAMP Ashley Mahan. “In an effort to enhance and evolve our program, the FedRAMP PMO seeks to leverage the power and insights of the cybersecurity community.”

Special notice and ideation challenge respondents have the opportunity to help guide what the FedRAMP PMO takes on next and help ensure the government keeps federal data secure while bolstering modernization efforts. Respondents are encouraged to submit any idea that could improve the cloud security authorization process -- making it shorter, simpler, less costly, and more likely to be reused.

Challenge participants should submit their ideas to info@fedramp.gov by 5 p.m. ET August 22, 2019, with the subject line: “FedRAMP Challenge Response.”

Submissions will be reviewed by the FedRAMP PMO. As a result of this challenge and internal efforts, FedRAMP will define its next program move and communicate the results of this effort through the Focus on FedRAMP blog.

More information about the challenge can be found here.

The FedBizOpps special notice is posted here.
