GSA is planning to host a multi-day, national acquisition training conference for the Federal Acquisition Workforce and Industry. The event, long sought by both federal agencies and Industry contractors aims to strengthen federal acquisition marketplace and yield savings to the taxpayer. Attendees will be able to earn up to 20 Continuous Learning Points (CLPs). Be sure to mark your calendars and add this training to your 2020 training and developments plans!

The theme is ‘Advancing Acquisition’ and training is organized into six tracks.

Here’s a preview:

Being Brilliant at the Basics in Federal Acquisition for Feds: Both new and experienced professionals in the acquisition community explore best practices in driving spend under management, managing supply chain risk, selecting the right acquisition strategy and authority, developing requirements and getting the most value from acquisition.

Being Brilliant at the Basics in Federal Acquisition for Industry: Whether large or small, new to government or a seasoned provider, we are committed to enhancing relationships with our industry partners. This track includes sessions on entering and navigating the federal marketplace, how to ensure compliance, modernization efforts underway and planned, and more.

Advanced Techniques in Acquisition: Gain insights into performance based and agile contracting techniques, hear how agencies are applying emerging technology to automate processes and analyze data, and collaborate with acquisition and industry experts on the future of federal acquisition.

Leveraging the Power of the Internet – Online Tools and Resources: Learn how to take advantage of existing pricing, labor category and discovery tools, work through live case studies in the Acquisition Gateway, and discover the value of data visualization. (There will also be an e-tools lab on the showroom floor.)

What’s Next in Acquisition: Discuss some of the acquisition reform efforts underway and in development and how agencies are adapting.

Emerging Technologies, IT Modernization and Innovation: Hear how agencies are kick-starting modernization efforts, applying innovative technologies, moving to as-a-service solutions, and the ins and outs of getting to cloud.

Join industry peers and more than 3,000 professionals in the federal acquisition community from across the country at FAST 2020 “Advancing Acquisition”. The conference provides opportunities to participate in educational sessions, network with peers and prospective new business partners, and interact with leaders and professionals from across the federal government.

Training is organized into six tracks ranging from honing foundational contracting ‘Basics for Industry’, to harnessing the power of emerging technology and improving the delivery of government services. The conference includes a 270,000 square feet showroom; featuring products and services available through federal government solutions.

As a participant, you will have the opportunity to:

Engage with 3,000+ federal contracting professionals and senior policy and program leaders - under one roof, master the latest government e-tools and processes, meet with GSA and other federal agency contracting officers and acquisition executives, collaborate with industry and agency partners on shaping the future of acquisition, network with large and small businesses, explore potential partnerships for future opportunities, and showcase company offerings.

There will be fees associated with registration, both as a non-exhibitor and as an exhibitor. For planning purposes, we are providing the following estimated rates:

  • Full three day registration: $800
  • Single day registration: $300
  • Standard 10 X 10 Exhibit: $3,200

Actual fees will be posted on the registration site, scheduled to go live in August 2019.
