Bill Pollard is our new Delaware Valley Field Office Manager; Melissa Wetzel leads the Philadelphia Field Office
Mid-Atlantic PBS announces the recent promotion of Bill Pollard to the position of Delaware Valley Field Office Manager. As Field Office Manager, Pollard manages tenant services including lease administration, building operation and maintenance, repairs, and alterations for GSA properties in Delaware, portions of the Philadelphia metropolitan area, and the southern counties of New Jersey.
While this is a new position for Pollard, he has two decades of experience working various roles within the field offices. Pollard began his GSA career as a construction representative in what was then referred to as the East Philadelphia Field Office. During his 11 years in what is now called the Philadelphia Field Office, he held various positions such as building manager overseeing the historic U.S. Custom House in Philadelphia, facility services manager and operations manager of the Custom House/Nix property management team.
In 2014, Pollard joined the Delaware Valley Field Office team and held both operations manager and construction services manager positions. Prior to his current Field Office Manager position, he served as acting Field Office Manager in both the Philadelphia and Delaware Valley field offices.
Pollard says, “I am truly looking forward to my new role in the organization. Our field office played a critical role throughout the pandemic, working diligently to keep our buildings up and running without skipping a beat. I am excited to seek out more improvements to our operations in the post pandemic era.”
Pollard started his GSA career in 2003 as part of the federal career intern program. He graduated in 2003 from Drexel University in Philadelphia, with a Bachelor of Science in architectural engineering. Pollard has a special interest in sustainability and holds a Certified Energy Manager designation.
Pollard takes over as Delaware Valley Field Office Manager, as the office’s former leader, Melissa Wetzel, transitions to her new role as Philadelphia Field Office Manager.
Wetzel returns to lead the Philadelphia Field Office where she began her GSA career in 2003 as a property manager. She also served as operations manager there beginning in 2009. She became the Delaware Valley Field Office Manager in 2017.
Wetzel has a Bachelor of Arts in business administration from Drexel University in Philadelphia, a Senior Level Project and Program Manager certification from the Federal Acquisition Institute, as well as certifications as a Real Property Administrator and Facilities Management Administrator from the Building Owners and Managers Institute International. She also graduated from the Federal Internal Coaching Training Program, certified by the International Coach Federation.
