GSA Integrated Workplace Acquisition Center hosts furniture industry meeting

On May 10, the GSA Integrated Workplace Acquisition Center (IWAC) welcomed 120 GSA Schedule Program contractors to the first in-person GSA Quality Partnership Council (QPC) furniture industry event since 2019. In addition to the attendees at the Department of Interior Yates Auditorium in Washington, D.C.,132 suppliers participated virtually.
Founded in the GSA Mid-Atlantic Region more than 30 years ago, the QPC is a furniture forum fostering government and industry collaboration that drives continuous improvement for the federal furniture marketplace.
Speakers from the Department of Navy’s NAVFAC Interior Design Team, Air Force’s Enterprise Sourcing Squadron, Army Corps of Engineers’ Huntsville Furniture Team, GSA Public Buildings Service (PBS), and GSA’s Schedules Program Office joined the GSA Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) to lead industry discussions. Topics included the future of work, the new GSA/Small Business Administration 8(a) partnership agreement, and Department of Defense plans to strategically procure furniture across the Navy, Air Force and Army.
IWAC partnered with PBS to arrange tours of the new GSA Workplace Innovation Lab, located on the second floor of GSA headquarters at 1800 F Street NW in Washington, D.C. Over 100 industry partners attending the QPC meeting toured the Workplace Innovation Lab, which showcases the latest innovations in office design, furniture and technology to meet the needs of today’s hybrid federal workers.
