Built in 2004, the Department of Transportation (DOT) Lakewood building incorporates modern day architecture and sustainable design. The office building is three stories and 128,342 square feet in size - and features a quality workplace, secure environment, and an efficient layout for approximately 380 federal employees. Building amenities include covered parking, an employee kitchen, and an outside patio.
On October 5, 2004, the DOT Lakewood building officially received the Silver LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification. LEED® certification recognizes building projects that meet the highest sustainability standards for design, construction and operation.
