GSA Co-hosts 2017 Health, Safety and Security Day

Denver AmbulanceJune is National Safety Month and on Thursday, June 29, the GSA Rocky Mountain Region co-hosted the Second Annual 2017 Health, Safety and Security Day! The two-hour event took place at the Denver Federal Center (DFC) in concert with the DFC Farmers Market and drew approximately 400 attendees. The goal of this annual event is to bring awareness of health, safety and security to federal employees and their families.
In past years, agencies hosted independent events. In 2016, agencies partnered through the Colorado Executive Board to co-host the first inter-agency event. This year’s event was co-hosted by ONRR (Office of Natural Resources Revenue), WAPA (Western Area Power Administration), FPS ( Federal Protective Service), USGS (United States Geological Survey) USBR (United States Bureau of Reclamation) and GSA. The agencies have formed a great partnership and plan to continue this collaborative effort.

This year’s event featured many new and exciting activities, including:

  • A Flight for Life Helicopter

  • A WAPA Helicopter

  • FEMA exhibits

  • Health and Wellness vendors

  • Pet adoption agencies

  • Emergency Management exhibits

  • Safety and Security exhibits

  • Recreational vendors

  • Colorado State Parks

  • Vintage Cars

  • Food and vegetable vendors

  • And many, many more!
