The sidewalk from 202-220 S. State St. will be closed starting March 9. Signage will redirect pedestrians to cross the street.
We are preparing an Environmental Impact Statement and conducting the National Historic Preservation Act Section 106 Process to address the future of these buildings. All four properties lie adjacent to the Dirksen Federal Courthouse in the downtown Loop Retail Historic District, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The Century Building (202) and Consumers Building (220) contribute to the historic district.
