Alexandria U.S. Post Office & Courthouse
The Alexandria U.S. Post Office (USPO) and Courthouse is located at 515 Murray Street (between 5th and 6th Streets and Murray and Johnston) in Alexandria, Louisiana. The main entrance to the courthouse faces Murray Street.
The courthouse is located in the central business district and is easily accessible from several highway exits. There is a patron parking facility in the rear and public parking on the surrounding streets. It has over 50,000 square feet and tenants include the U.S. District Court, U.S. Post Office, U.S. Marshals, and the U.S. Attorney's Office.
The Alexandria USPO and Courthouse has served in its original capacity for more than 60 years and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Designed by Shreveport architect Edward Neild, it serves as a symbol of the federal presence and an example of the Art Deco style in Alexandria.
