FAS Regional Commissioner
Mary Ruwwe serves as regional commissioner of the Heartland's Federal Acquisition Service — overseeing FAS activities throughout the states of Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa. She leads a workforce of 260 employees who deliver products and services across government at the best value possible.
In this role, Ruwwe oversees the federal government's facilities and construction purchasing category and the hardware and tools subcategory — responsible for more than a billion dollars in facility-and-construction-related supply purchases each year. The governmentwide facilities and construction category includes $75 billion in materials and services. Facilities and construction is the largest of 10 government “super categories” of commonly purchased items identified by the White House’s Strategic Sourcing Leadership Council.
The FAS Heartland Region is also home to GSA's Small Business Governmentwide Acquisition Contracts center, one of two domestic GSA Fleet Accident Management Centers, and GSA's National Customer Service Center.
Ruwwe has two bachelor's degrees in business administration and secondary education from Peru State College in Peru, Nebraska. She also holds a master's degree in business administration from Webster University in Kansas City, Missouri.
