Historic Preservation Program

GSA's Heartland Region Historic Preservation Office is committed to helping customers with all aspects of historic preservation. The office offers a wide range of services, including:

  • Advice on renovations.
  • Carry out activities to follow the National Historic Preservation Act.
  • Technical architectural ability relating to all aspects of building renovation and preservation -- including advice and assistance on all preservation matters, technical or controversial.

The National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 calls for federal agencies to find and help with conservation and the continued use of historic buildings in the public and private sector. GSA's Heartland Region Historic Preservation Office is most effective when involved in all stages of preservation or renovation projects.
