Employee workplace engagement at NAVSUP
GSA is working with the Naval Supply Systems (NAVSUP) located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, on an employee workplace engagement effort to design a fully functional workplace for employees. NAVSUP employees are being surveyed for ways to improve the overall layout and function of their existing office space. Areas to be explored include employee’s personal workspace type, required technology, virtual conferencing, printing, required adjacencies to other staff or support areas, telecommuting and remote work frequency.
A virtual kick-off meeting was held in November 2022 to discuss concept designs, implementation plans and workplace recommendations. Training on furniture solutions has also been offered. Other deliverables will be a file management study and information technology study.
During the 12-month project, NAVSUP will also hold leadership interviews and vision sessions, on-site visits and focus groups. More customer conversations are scheduled to see how this framework and GSA’s best practices may be implemented across other Navy locations.
