Migration from ePM to Kahua

For 13 years, GSA used an information management tool, electronic project management (ePM), for organizing, managing and tracking our PBS projects. This year we are migrating to a new system. Beginning in August 2022, GSA will be transitioning all of our clients who currently have an ePM account over to a new, web-based project management and collaboration software called Kahua.

The transition to Kahua allows users to securely collaborate throughout the lifecycle of a PBS project in federally owned or leased space. Using Kahua for design, construction, and leasing projects will provide all project stakeholders with improved project delivery practices and standardized operating procedures with security and privacy. Examples of project activities include client project agreements, requests for information, project schedules, design reviews and punch lists. Kahua also supports activities related to delegated buildings. Clients will be able to access Kahua through a computer or mobile device to easily perform numerous tasks including:

  • Download project information and view reports.
  • Review client project agreements.
  • Review project documents.
  • Collaborate with a project team on drawings and design mark ups.

All Mid-Atlantic Region clients who are existing ePM users will receive a Kahua license along with instructions for access and training. These details will be sent from the national GSA Kahua team to all active ePM users. If you have any technical questions about your Kahua account after it is activated, please contact brandon.bolstad@gsa.gov.

Clients who currently do not have ePM access but are interested in having access to Kahua may request to set up a Kahua account.

  • In relation to an active PBS project, please contact your GSA Project Manager.
  • In relation to Client Project Agreements, please contact your GSA Regional Account Manager.

During the migration of project information stored on ePM to Kahua, please note the project information displayed under the PBS Customer Dashboard may temporarily not be up-to-date. After migration is completed, the up-to-date project details will be restored on the PBS Customer Dashboard and maintained moving forward.
