NCR PBS RC Participates in Lafayette Building Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Former NCR PBS Regional Commissioner, Mary Gibert, participated in the formal ribbon cutting ceremony to honor the Lafayette Building Modernization Project on December 11, 2017. Located at 811 Vermont Avenue in Washington, D.C., the Lafayette Building houses employees from the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA). The modernization project consolidated VA's footprint, eliminated two leases and produced an annual cost avoidance of $10.6 million in rent.
The project has been well received by the VA workforce due to the modernized space and new state-of-the-art training facilities. GSA Project Executive and GSA Greening and Sustainability champion, William Dowd, was on hand to provide remarks on behalf of GSA. Gibert joined Vivieca Wright Simpson, Chief of Staff for Veterans Affairs, to officially cut the ribbon marking the official reopening of the space.
