About the project

The repair and alteration project for the reconfiguration and alteration of vacant space at the Jacob K. Javits Federal Building located in New York City, New York, will consolidate functions and meet the long-term needs of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The approximately $100 million project includes the full renovation and LEED Gold upgrade of 265,000 rentable square feet throughout floors 16 to 21 and a renovation of the 30th floor. Repairs and alterations include upgrades to multiple building systems, removal of hazardous materials and improved fire protection systems. GSA Region 2 awarded a $32.3 million construction contract for Phase One in March 2018.

The phased project is expected to be fully completed in winter 2021.
