GSA Selects Chaun Benjamin To Manage Regional Federal Real Estate Portfolio

Chaun Benjamin has been named as Regional Commissioner of the Public Buildings Service for the Northwest/Arctic Region of the U.S. General Services Administration.

In that role, Benjamin will be responsible for managing a federal portfolio of 16 million rentable square feet in 577 owned and leased buildings in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.

Benjamin has been Acting Regional Commissioner since May 2013 and was officially offered the position in October. He began his career with GSA in 2003 as a Contracting Officer in the Design and Construction Branch, and has served in many capacities in the Northwest/Arctic Region. He has served in numerous leadership roles since then.

Benjamin is a graduate of Sunnyside High School (1982) where he was DECA president. He earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from St. Martin’s University (2001) in Lacey, Washington. Prior to joining GSA, Mr. Benjamin served 20 great years in the United States Air Force as an Acquisition Professional, and has served in numerous campaigns throughout the world.

With a portfolio of 16 million square feet of owned and leased office space in the Region, PBS plays a major role in the commercial real estate market, and makes a significant economic impact through more than $197 million in annual rental payments.
