Tree Update

Image of an ash tree

Since being discovered in Boulder in 2013, the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) is expected to devastate the ash tree population in Colorado over the next decade. The State of Colorado has developed a quarantine, management and prevention program, however; it is only a matter of time before we begin seeing the effects on our ash tree population on the Denver Federal Center (DFC).

In an effort to get ahead of the certain loss of trees, the GSA has decided to begin planting several varieties of trees over the next two years. Trees will be planted close to our ash trees to maintain a healthy ecosystem as well as a visual appeal.
