The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) received authorization from Congress in the amount of $218,000,000 for the site acquisition, design and construction of a new 186,000-square-foot federal courthouse in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The courthouse, once completed, will consist of seven (7) courtrooms, nine (9) chambers, and 39 inside secure parking spaces. The facility will also provide space for the District Clerk, U.S. Probation Office, Bankruptcy Clerk, United States Marshals Services, United States Attorney’s Office, Federal Public Defender and the General Services Administration.

GSA is in the Site Selection phase.

Latest Updates

GSA expects to announce the short-listed sites by the end of this calendar year and begin the NEPA process in the first quarter of the calendar year 2023.

A Program of Requirements (POR) study will also be conducted for this project. GSA intends to contract with a construction manager as advisor (CMa) firm to conduct the POR study and intends on issuing the request for proposals (RFP) to qualified CMa firms in the first quarter of the calendar year 2023.
