Executive Order (EO) 13693 section 3(i) defines new sustainable acquisition requirements for products and/or services by governmental agencies.

To assist the federal acquisition community with meeting this mandate, GSA’s Facilities Maintenance and Hardware Acquisition Center will begin requiring that new products under the following Schedule 51 V, Hardware Superstore, categories 639 001 and 639 002, be designated as “green” products.

In order to begin implementation, the Center will immediately require “green” certification on all new offers of products in the above categories. These new items must meet Energy Star requirements and be certified Energy Star compliant or FEMP approved. Information pertaining to certification can be obtained through EPA's Energy Star or DOE Energy-Efficient Product Procurement websites.

Many of these items are under GSA MAS contracts and can be found in GSA Advantage!®, GSA’s online transactional website. This information is pulled directly from the ENERGY STAR website,

Below is a brief listing of Energy Star products designated as "green" under the 51 V Schedule.
