We are now accepting applications to our Legal Externship Program for the 2023 summer and fall semesters.
Students selected as legal externs will work for our Office of the General Counsel, a team of attorneys and support staff that carries out our legal activities, ensures full and proper implementation of our statutory responsibilities, and provides legal counsel to all of our programs, services, and staff offices. These externships offer a first-hand opportunity to observe the practice of law in a major federal agency and learn about substantive areas of the law by dealing with issues faced by our lawyers and their clients. Externs can expect challenging legal research, analysis, and writing assignments in an array of practice areas, including: administrative law; employment law; government ethics; procurement; real estate; construction; government travel; cybersecurity; litigation; and legislation.
At this time, all externships are 100% telework (subject to change) and uncompensated.
